Junior Drama
Students in this age range are placed with a group of students at their same age and ability level to learn improvisation, audition techniques, memory skills, group acting and reacting, imagination games, focusing techniques & perform at least twice during the year to show what they have learned in class. rehearsals for shows are held in addition to class times for shows.
Intermediate Drama
Students in this age range are placed with a group of students at their same age and ability level to expand upon improvisation skills, auditioning skills, ensemble work, relaxation and role playing, character building, & theater games to expand their knowledge of the focus and attention required to be a good actor.
We also focus on audition packets to help them audition at not only our school, but other local and regional community theaters. These students will perform at least twice during the year to learn how to build a role from the beginning to the stage!
Advanced Drama
Advanced Drama is a placement approval only class. We require a pre-requisite of Intermediate drama, or place you here at the directors discretion. We study many different acting techniques, including but not limited to Cohen, Adler, Stanislavsky, and more. You will learn not only classical and contemporary acting, but improvisation technique as well. This is a stage and film acting class where you will learn to leap out of your box!
Musical Theatre Jr & Sr.
Musical Theatre class is a wonderful way to gain show experience and training in all three areas of voice, dance and acting! This class is split into two different levels. Musical theatre Jr. & Sr.
Students will have the opportunity to perform in our musical as well as train throughout the year to become a triple threat. Not only will they learn these three disciplines, but they will expand their knowledge of technical theatre, audition technique, and performance etiquette. Cost of class does not cover cost of theatre, lights, costumes, programs, etc. so there will be opportunity to fundraise as there will be a production fee. Class meets twice a week for two hours each class for seniors and an 1 1/2 hours for Jr.
